How to prepare HIRO Wagyu Steaks
Whatever you do – be careful if you decide to grill your Hiro Wagyu steaks. Due to the intense marbling of wagyu beef, open flame is not recommended. We recommend using a cast iron skillet or the sous vide method of cooking.
Cast Iron Skillet
Thaw steaks to room temperature and season with salt and pepper. Preheat and grease the cast iron skillet with olive oil (lightly, as the marbling of Wagyu produces high amounts of juices)
Sear at high heat for 1 minute per side. Bring heat to medium and then add butter and herbs for basting. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until desired doneness (145 degrees F for medium rare, 160 degrees F for medium). Remove the steaks and let them rest for at least five minutes before enjoying.
Sous Vide
Another excellent method of preparing Wagyu steaks is Sous Vide which means ‘under vacuum’. Below is an informational video to guide you through the process
How to prepare HIRO Wagyu Beef Patties
To prepare the best burger you have ever tasted: Wagyu beef prepares best when defrosted and brought to room temperature before cooking. Total cook time of 5-6 minutes. Ensure burgers reach an internal temperature of 71C (160F)
Preheat grill or pan to high and brush with cooking oil. Season both sides of burger with salt and pepper. Place burger on hot grill/pan. Flip when well browned (2-3 minutes). Lower heat to medium and cook to your liking, for medium approx. 3-4 minutes more. Remove from heat and allow to rest briefly. Prepare your burger and enjoy!
